Description
The 1943 Jefferson Nickel - 3/2 is a nickel produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Jefferson Nickels Original Design 1938-2003 series. The U.S. Mint produced 271.2 million examples, making this ranked 3rd of 4 mint variants by mintage, with 41% of production. The obverse features Thomas Jefferson facing left and the reverse displays Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's Virginia estate. All 1943 nickels are silver alloy (35% silver, 56% copper, 9% manganese).
