The 1926 (S) Standing Liberty Quarter is a quarter minted at the San Francisco Mint, within the Standing Liberty Quarters 1916-1930 series. With a mintage of 2.7 million, this is a less common issue — ranked 2nd of 3 mint variants by mintage, with 17% of production. The obverse features Liberty standing in a gateway between two walls, holding an olive branch and a shield and the reverse displays an eagle in flight. Minted during and after World War I, as America emerged as a global power and experienced the prosperity of the Roaring Twenties.
