Description
The 1918 (S) Philippine Five Centavos Allen-4.08b Mule is a cent produced at the San Francisco Mint as part of the Philippines Five Centavos 1903-1945 series. The obverse features a male figure seated beside a hammer and anvil and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Minted during and after World War I, as America emerged as a global power and experienced the prosperity of the Roaring Twenties. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, established during the California Gold Rush and now primarily producing proof and collector coins. Auction record: $41,125 MS64 04-10-2014 Heritage Auctions.
