About This Coin
The 1911 Philippine Ten Centavos is a United States cent from the Philippines Ten Centavos 1903-1945 series. The obverse features a male figure seated beside a hammer and anvil, while the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Designed by Melecio Figueroa. The Philippine Ten Centavos was struck in 75% silver (1903-1935/1944-1945), making it one of the silver denominations in the Philippine series. WWII-era issues were struck at the Denver and San Francisco Mints when the Manila Mint fell to Japanese forces. Silver content adds collector interest. The reduced-size post-1907 type is a distinct collecting target.
