Description
The 1909 (S) Philippine Twenty Centavos is a cent produced at the San Francisco Mint as part of the Philippines Twenty Centavos 1903-1945 series. Total mintage reached 450,000. The obverse features a female figure standing beside an anvil and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck.
