Description

From the Barber Dime series (1892-1916), this 1907 WRPD-001 exhibits a repunched date where one or more digits were impressed into the die a second time with visible displacement from the primary punch position. Repunched dates were an inherent byproduct of the hand-punching process used to add date numerals to individual working dies throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries. This variety carries extensive cross-references across multiple attribution systems: Lawrence L-103, Flynn RPD-001, and Cherrypickers FS-10-1907-301. The convergence of three independent catalog designations underscores its recognition among variety specialists. Charles Barber's Liberty Head design served on dimes for a quarter century, and repunched date varieties from the series document the die preparation methods used at the Philadelphia Mint. Attributed by the Wexler Team under the designation 1907 10-cent WRPD-001.
