Description
"April 26 to Dec. 1" reads the obverse of HK-349 under a view of the Jamestown Exposition grounds and buildings, with 16 and 07 at the upper corners; the listing for the fair itself gives a closing date of November 30, 1907. The legends around name the "Jamestown Exposition" and "Norfolk, Va. 1907." The reverse stacks the anniversary from top to bottom: 1607 with sailing ships, a band lettered "Ter-Centennial," then a battleship identified in small letters as the U. S. Battleship Virginia, and 1907 at the foot, all within a beaded border. HK-349 is brass with a reeded edge, 36 mm. Hibler and Kappen note at least four obverse dies and four reverse dies, and say the number of combinations is not known, so pieces can differ in detail.
