The 1907 Eagle Patterns page groups the 1907 eagle patterns of Augustus Saint-Gaudens in the Design Reform Patterns (1880-1942) series, with periods in the legends: the wire edge (J-1901), the plain edge (J-1902) and the rolled edge (J-1903). Roger Burdette's research shows that only pieces struck with a special edge collar bearing two large stars are true patterns.
