The 1907 (D) Liberty Head Double Eagle represents a Denver Mint issue from the Liberty Head Double Eagles 1849-1907 series. The Denver Mint struck 842,250 double eagles dated 1907. The last year of the Liberty Head design before the Saint-Gaudens type replaced it. The Denver Mint, which grew from an 1860s gold rush assay office, has served as a major production facility since 1906.
