Description
The 1904 Philippine Ten Centavos is part of the Philippines Ten Centavos 1903-1945 series. The ten centavos of 1903-1906 weighs 41.55 grains (2.69 grams) of .900 silver, the standard of the act of March 2, 1903. Figueroa's obverse for the silver coins shows a young woman in a long gown striking an anvil with a hammer, Mount Mayon behind her; the reverse has the eagle on the United States shield and the date. Philadelphia struck business coins in 1903 and 1904 and the proofs of 1903-1906, and San Francisco struck the 1903 and 1904 coins with an S to the left of the date. Greysheet's listing and the Krause catalogue both record 10,000 pieces. Catalogue numbers: KM-165. PCGS number 90239.
