Description
The 1904 Philippine Five Centavos is part of the Philippines Five Centavos 1903-1945 series. The first five-centavo type was struck from 1903 to 1928 in copper-nickel, three parts copper to one of nickel, with the same pictures as the centavo: Figueroa's seated figure with anvil, hammer and Mount Mayon, and the eagle on the United States shield with the date. Philadelphia made the coins of 1903-1904 and the proofs, San Francisco those of 1916-1919 with an S, and the Manila Mint those of 1920-1921 without a mint mark and of 1925-1928 with an M. Greysheet's listing and the Krause catalogue both record 1,075,000 pieces. Catalogue numbers: KM-164. PCGS number 90194.
