Description

Proof dime pattern struck in 1876, the Centennial year, as the Philadelphia Exposition showcased American innovation and the Mint continued extensive goloid alloy experiments for metric-weight coinage. This proof striking in silver is part of the ten-cent silver coinage design studies conducted at the Philadelphia Mint under Chief Engraver William Barber.
