Description
The 1875 Proof Quarter Pattern - J-1417 is a proof quarter pattern struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Metric & Stella Patterns (1874-1879) series. It was struck from the regular 1875 Seated Liberty quarter dies. USPatterns.com believes the 1875 off-metal pieces from regular dies were struck on purpose for sale to collectors in complete sets, cent through double eagle, in copper and aluminum. Two aluminum examples are believed known. It is struck in aluminum with a reeded edge. USPatterns.com rates it R-7. It is also catalogued as Pollock-1560 and Adams-Woodin 1432. Cataloged as PCGS #61724.
