Description

A second die variety of J-1326, this pattern represents yet another iteration in the final refinement of the Trade Dollar design. The existence of multiple die varieties for a single design concept in the terminal section of the pattern series indicates that multiple working dies were being prepared simultaneously, for the transition from pattern production to the mass production that would begin later in 1873.
