Description
This is a goldine piece in the J. J. Conway & Co. two-and-a-half-dollar design that PCGS lists as a 1956 restrike. J. J. Conway & Co. struck two-and-a-half, five and ten-dollar gold pieces at Georgia Gulch in 1861; Raymond places the firm at Parkville, at the mouth of the gulch. Like the Parsons pieces, the coins are undated. It is a later production, not a coin of 1861. PCGS number 525182.
