This is a nickel-alloy five-dollar piece of 1851 reading SAN FRANCISCO STANDARD MINT, as PCGS and NGC list it. Adams describes a one-sided tin proof reading 5 DOLLARS SAN FRANCISCO STANDARD MINT 22 CARAT FINE. Despite the name it has nothing to do with the United States Mint, whose San Francisco branch opened only in 1854. PCGS number 10322.
