Description

A rare London Elephant Token variety where the sword on the City of London shield is misplaced in the upper right (second) quadrant instead of the normal upper left position. The reverse also features a saltire cross rather than the plain cross on the common variety. The elephant's tusks on the obverse are positioned further from the rim than on the standard issue.

Rarity Notes

R.7. Very rare; fewer than a dozen confirmed examples.
