The state prefix AL and town number 425 point to Huntsville, Alabama; merchant letter A points to the firm. The Civil War Token Society reads i as tin-plated, though older references took it for zinc plating. NGC places the card in 1861-65, and a sub-variety in the same metal is listed as 3i1.
