Description

ADC-1c-1960D-77(SD); 4 events The dies that struck this coin have been through multiple clash events. The first image above shows the partial letters from the words ONE CENT clashed above Lincoln’s head. These clash marks could not have been generated by the same event and happened at different times. The  image above  shows the Memorial building roof line protruding from the lapel of Lincoln’s coat. A clash line generated by the top of Lincoln’s head can bee seen through the NE of ONE and the CE of CENT. The line seen protruding from the top of the Memorial building roof is generated by the lapel of Lincoln’s coat. Though not see as a clash event on the obverse die, the reverse die shows two separate events as clash marks left by the bottom of Lincoln’s bust through the word STATES. The bottom left corner of Lincoln’s bust is also seen clashed below and behind the E of UNITED. More than likely, the clash marks on the obverse die were effectively abraded. A total of four clash events can be seen on this coin. The reverse die shows two die chips; one on the inside top of the O in ONE and the other on the left corner of the Memorial building base.
