Description

ADC-1c-1960D-54(SD) This die clash event is a bit on the more unusual side for the 1960D small date Lincoln cent. The clash area involves the mint mark and the bottom right of Lincoln’s bust. The bottom of the A, M and E can be seen clashed through the mint mark and almost into the 6 digit of the date. The reciprocal die clash can be seen on the reverse die with the coat line and vest line seen from the roof top going into the A and M of AMERICA. The D mint mark is seen on the lower right side of the M in AMERICA. The overlay provided shows the relative position of the dies when they did meet. Another unrelated clash mark can be seen through the word STATES making this a dual event clashed die. This dual event of clashing dies can be recognized by the minor RPM seen in the picture to the left.
