Description

Obverse: Portrait bust of President Warren G. Harding facing left, with inscription 'WARREN G. HARDING' and designer signature 'MORGAN 1922'. Reverse: Mourning female figure in classical dress placing laurel on a wreath, with pillar at left and palm frond at right. Inscriptions read 'INAUGURATED PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES MAR. 4, 1921' and 'DIED AUG. 2, 1923', with designer signature 'MORGAN'. Both obverse and reverse were designed by George T. Morgan. Warren G. Harding was the 29th President (1921-1923), serving during the post-World War I return to normalcy before dying in office in San Francisco.
