Description
The 2026 Mercury Dime Silver Medal is the one-ounce companion piece to the Best of the Mint Mercury Dime Gold Coin. Designed by Artistic Infusion Program artist Kathryn Hudson and sculpted by Medallic Artist Craig A. Campbell, this silver medal offers a modern reinterpretation of the Mercury dime theme set against the backdrop of America's Great Depression era. The obverse depicts Liberty in both defensive and offensive stances, with rays of hope emanating from a raised sword. The background includes imagery of Hooverville shacks and Dust Bowl winds, contextualizing the original 1916 design within the broader American experience. The reverse continues the narrative scene. Struck in one ounce of 99.9% pure silver, this medal provides an artistic dialogue between Weinman's 1916 classical vision and a contemporary interpretation of Liberty's enduring strength through adversity.
