About This Coin

The 2025 American Eagle Five Dollar Gold is a United States five-dollar gold coin from the American Eagle Five Dollar Gold 1986 to Date series. In 2025 the Mint issued a bullion coin and a West Point proof of this size; it has published no final figure for them. Saint-Gaudens's Liberty from the 1907 double eagle, carrying a torch and an olive branch, fills the obverse, retouched in 2021 from a cast of the original; Jennie Norris's reverse is a close portrait of an eagle's head. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. Struck in 91.67% gold, 3% silver, 5.33% copper, 16.5 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens (obverse) and Jennie Norris (reverse).
