The 2024 (W) Harriet Tubman Commemorative Five Dollar Gold is a commemorative five-dollar gold coin struck at the West Point Mint. The West Point Mint struck 1,290 uncirculated Harriet Tubman five-dollar gold coins dated 2024. The gold coin in the Harriet Tubman program, this $5 piece depicts Tubman as an elder stateswoman who continued her activism well into old age. The obverse features a portrait of Harriet Tubman from her later years, looking confidently into the distance, while the reverse displays one individual's arms firmly grasping the arm of another, representing Tubman's helping hands. Designed by Chris Costello and Joseph Menna (obverse), Benjamin Sowards and Eric David Custer (reverse). Struck in 90% gold, 6% silver and 4% copper, weighing 8.36 grams, 21.6 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #935779. The Tubman $5 gold honors the full arc of Tubman's life of service, from freedom seeker to soldier to elder advocate.
