The 2020 (W) Proof American Eagle Fifty Dollar Gold - V75 Privy is a proof Gold Eagle struck at the West Point Mint, part of the American Eagle Fifty Dollar Gold 1986 to Date series. The Mint limited this proof to 1,945 coins. The obverse is Augustus Saint-Gaudens' Liberty from the 1907 double eagle, striding forward with a torch and an olive branch; the reverse, by Miley Busiek, shows a male eagle carrying an olive branch above a nest where a female eagle sits with their young. As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements. Struck at the West Point Mint, originally a bullion depository that became a full coin production facility, specializing in commemorative and bullion issues.
