Description
The 2007 (D) Wyoming Satin Finish State Quarter is a special strike quarter struck at the Denver Mint, part of the State Quarters 1999-2008 series. The U.S. Mint produced 895,628 examples, making this the lowest mintage among 30 mint variants, representing only less than 1% of total production. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon and the reverse displays unique designs representing each of the 50 U.S. states, released in the order of statehood ratification. The reverse depicts a bucking horse and rider, with the inscription "The Equality State." Wyoming's bucking bronco represents its cowboy heritage, while the nickname honors its trailblazing role as the first territory to grant women the right to vote in 1869. Montana, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah. Struck at the Denver Mint, established in 1906 from an earlier assay office that processed Colorado gold rush metal. Auction record: $95 SP69 05-01-2016 eBay. Struck in 75% copper, 25% nickel, weighing 5.67 grams, 24.3 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #389915.
