Description
The 2006 (W) Burnished American Eagle Twenty Five Dollar Platinum is a burnished platinum coin struck at the West Point Mint, part of the American Eagle Twenty Five Dollar Platinum 1997 to Date series. The Mint sold 2,676 quarter-ounce burnished coins dated 2006. The obverse features the Statue of Liberty facing forward and the reverse displays the Legislative Muse between two eagles perched on columns, for the legislative branch. Struck at the West Point Mint, originally a bullion depository that became a full coin production facility, specializing in commemorative and bullion issues. Struck in 99.95% platinum, weighing 7.78 grams, 22 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #21126.
