Description
The 2005 (P) American Eagle Ten Dollar Platinum is a platinum coin produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the American Eagle Ten Dollar Platinum 1997 to Date series. With a mintage of 14,013, this is a scarce issue. The obverse features the Statue of Liberty facing forward, while the reverse displays an eagle soaring over the sunrise. Designed by John M. Mercanti/Thomas D. Rogers. Struck in 99.95% platinum, weighing 3.11 grams, 16.5 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #21108. The tenth-ounce American Platinum Eagle is the smallest denomination in the Platinum Eagle family, containing 1/10 troy ounce of .9995 fine platinum. The most affordable entry into the Platinum Eagle series. Bullion versions were produced from 1997 to 2008.
