Description
Doubling shows on the left side of the 7th column to the right of the statue’s legs. Die Markers: Obverse: Three die gouges show above, left of, and below the first 0 in the date. A die gouge shows just right of Lincoln’s vest below the 2 and 0 in the date. A die gouge shows below the lower left edge of the W in WE. A die gouge (dot) shows to the right of the bridge of Lincoln’s nose. A die gouge (dot) shows at the back of Lincoln’s upper lapel. A die gouge shows NNE of the B in the VDB initials. A die gouge (dot) shows in Lincoln’s lower central hair, well south of the E in WE. Reverse: A die gouge shows on the lower left corner of the N in UNITED. A die crack runs north from left Memorial roof tip. Die cracks run north through upper Memorial columns 11 and 12. A die crack runs north from the upper right edge of the right Memorial buttress with tripod. A die gouge (dot) shows above fourth bush from right on the right side of the Memorial base. Die gouges (dots) show on the upper-mid left and right edges of the N in ONE.
