1992 (P) Roosevelt Dime - DDO, DDR 001

Description

A community-submitted new discovery carrying an R-8 Unique rarity designation, this 1992 Philadelphia Mint Roosevelt Dime exhibits complete die doubling on all devices of both the obverse and reverse. The dual DDO and DDR attribution means both sides of this coin show doubled die characteristics, an uncommon combination that makes each side independently attributable. At R-8 rarity, only a single specimen is known, placing this variety at the extreme end of the scarcity scale. This variety is not currently listed on Wexler or VarietyVista reference sites, underscoring its status as a recent discovery awaiting broader recognition in the variety community. The 1992-P Roosevelt Dime was struck in the clad composition of copper-nickel bonded to a pure copper core, the standard alloy used since 1965 when silver was removed from circulating dimes. Complete doubling across all devices on both sides suggests a significant misalignment between hubbing impressions during die manufacture.
