The 1991 (P) World War II 50th Anniversary Commemorative Half Dollar is a half dollar produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Modern Commemorative Half Dollars (1982-Date) series. The U.S. Mint produced 197,072 examples. The obverse features designs varying by commemorative issue, while the reverse displays designs varying by commemorative issue. Designed by George Klauba/Bill J. Leftwich. Struck in 75% copper, 25% nickel over a pure copper center, weighing 11.34 grams, 30.6 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #9674. Modern commemorative half dollars are struck in copper-nickel clad composition and honor American events and figures. Lower mintages compared to circulating issues. Available in proof and uncirculated finishes.
