Description
The 1987 (W) United States Constitution Bicentennial Commemorative Five Dollar Gold is a cent produced at the West Point Mint as part of the Modern Commemorative Five Dollar Gold (1984-Date) series. The U.S. Mint produced 214,225 examples. The obverse features designs varying by commemorative issue, while the reverse displays designs varying by commemorative issue. Designed by Marcel Jovine. Struck in 90% gold, 10% copper, weighing 8.36 grams, 21.6 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #9626. Modern commemorative five-dollar gold coins are struck in 90% gold (8.359 grams) and represent the premium tier of each year's commemorative program.
