Description
Class II, Distorted Hub Doubling "Best Of" Nickel Doubled Die VarietiesThis variety is a tripled die. Very strong doubling with a closer third image shows on all letters of E PLURIBUS UNUM. Nice doubling, with some evidence of tripling, also shows on UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, FIVE CENTS and MONTICELLO. The spread is toward the center decreasing slightly from left to right. Die Markers: Obverse: None noted. Reverse: Stage A: EDS - Small die gouge between upper portions of T and A of STATES.Stage B: LDS - Heavily polished making doubling mushier. Die gouge between T and A of STATES is still visible.
