Description

A Small Date was hubbed over a Large Date. Doubling also shows on the B of LIBERTY and the inside of the G in GOD. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: The mint mark is a widely repunched mint mark showing as a D/D wide to the north. The mint mark is listed in the Wexler RPM Files as 1960-D 1¢ WRPM-103. Four parallel die scratches run SSE from the bottom of the earlobe. A die scratch runs SE from just to the right of the center of the R in TRUST. Obverse Stage B: A curving die scratch can be found below and between the 1 and 9 in the date extending south to the vest. A die scratch runs SW from the lower right N of IN. Obverse Stage C: Two parallel die scratches run SW from the lower O in GOD. Obverse Stage D: A die chip can be found in the upper 6. Reverse: None noted. Specimens are needed for all stages to determine reverse die markers.
