Description

A class V spread from a pivot point at about 11:00 shows best on DIME. Distorted doubling toward the center shows best on STATES OF AMERICA and UNUM. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Type I. Small die gouges on the nose SW of the eye. Die gouge (dot) north of the eyelid. Obverse Stage B: Die gouge (dot) above upper lip. Die scratch south of the I of LIBERTY. Reverse Stage A: Trumpet tail mintmark. Die gouges below the A and second T of STATES. Small die scratch between the B of PLURIBUS and the torch holder. NW/SE die scratch inside the upper opening of the mintmark. NNW die scratch from the top of the mintmark. Die scratch curving to the SE from the center of the mintmark to the torch holder. Reverse Stage B: Very short NW/SE die scratch east of the top of the torch holder. Obverse Stage A:
