Description
Obverse Stage B: Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Trumpet Tail Mintmark. N/S die scratch above the right side of the mintmark. NE/SW die scratch left of the mintmark. Die gouge at the G and O of GOD. NW/SE die scratches through GOD. Short die scratch is seen south from the bust right of the designer’s initials. Numerous (mostly N/S) light die scratches in the field. Obverse Stage B: Die scratches through GOD have now decreased to die gouges under and to the right of GOD. Obverse Stage C: Die chip on left edge of the L of LIBERTY. Reverse Stage A: Strong N/S die scratch centered and touching the lower right side edge of the C in CENT. Numerous (mostly N/S) light die scratches in the field; notably, a die scratch centered on the diagonal leg of the N of ONE running north to the left bottom edge of the U of PLURIBUS. Die scratch starting from the bottom left of the U of PLURIBUS running south through the O of ONE continuing south to the top of the E of CENT. Multiple N/S die scratches run through the C of CENT notably; two die scratches starting to the left of the U of PLURIBUS running south through the C of CENT ending in the field below the C of CENT. Reverse Stage B: Stage A die scratch that runs through the O of ONE now no longer touches the U of PLURIBUS due to die polishing. Stage A scratch on the northern edge of the N of ONE now ends in the field between the N of ONE and the U of PLURIBUS. The Stage A die scratches running through the C of CENT still strong inside the C of CENT and are no longer visible above or below. Reverse Stage C: The Stage A scratch that runs through the O of ONE shows the scratch only above and below the O of ONE due to further die polishing. N of ONE die scratch has become very weak due to die polishing. Stage A die scratches inside the C of CENT are both very weak. Obverse Stage A:
