Obverse Stage B: Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: The obverse is also a doubled die variety listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1945-S 1¢ WDDO-004. An extra eyelid can be seen just below the normal eyelid. N/S die scratches at the neck. N/S Die scratches in the field behind the neck. N/S die scratches above the TY of LIBERTY. Die scratch in Lincoln’s nostril. Obverse Stage B: Thin die crack at the right edge of the lower 4 running through the 5 continues east to the rim. Die gouge to the lower left of the W of WE. Obverse Stage C: Same as Stage B. Reverse Stage A: Die chip on the left edge of the F in OF. Die chip to the right of the right wheat stalk. Reverse Stage B: Second Reverse. N/S die scratches on most of reverse. Strong die scratch to the left of the T of CENT. Scratch to the left of the U of UNITED. N/S die scratch running from the N of ONE to the N of CENT.
