Description

Strong extra thickness shows on EPU, the dots, both wheat ears, and both wheat stems. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: A die gouge can be found to the right of the Y in LIBERTY. Several die scratches run from SW to NE below the letters of IN. A die scratch runs SW from the bottom of the 9 in the date. Numerous other die scratches can be found throughout the obverse. Obverse Stage B: The die scratches have been abraded away. The die gouge to the right of the Y is still visible. Reverse Stage A: Several die scratches run from SW to NE between the top of the left wheat ear and the rim. A die scratch runs from SW to NE through the NI of UNITED to the bottom of the E in CENT. A die gouge protrudes from the lower left of the E in CENT. Reverse Stage B: The die scratches have been abraded away. The die chip on the lower left E is still visible. A die gouge can be found on the upper right leg of the R in AMERICA.
