Description

Obverse Stage A: Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Light E/W die scratches at the front of the neck and collar. Strong ENE/WSW die scratch at the front of the neck that runs into the collar. Die scratches south from the lower hair near the collar. Short, strong NNW/SSE die scratch on the back of the collar. Obverse Stage B: Stage A markers are weaker. Die crack west from the last fold running over the designer’s initial to the bust. Reverse Stage A: Long die scratch from the upper left side of the O in OF, running through the U in UNITED and to the left wheat ear. Reverse Stage B: Weaker die scratch from OF.
