D/D Tilted (Rotated)Die Markers: Obverse: E/W die scratches run through the date and mint mark. Die gouge in the field below the chin. Die chip on the head in-line and between the eye and the ear. Die scratches and multiple die chips above the Y of LIBERTY. Reverse: The reverse is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1943-D 1¢ WDDR-004. A spread towards the center shows on both wheat ears, both wheat stems, and slightly on EPU. N/S die scratch right of I of PLURIBUS. Die chip below the upper arm of the E of ONE. Die scratch runs N/S inside the E of ONE. Large die chip between the lower E and N of CENT. Die chip above the R of AMERICA. Obverse: N/S die scratches in the field right of profile. N/S die scratches in the field right of beard. Die scratches in the form of checker boards north of the mint mark between the 9 and 3 of date. Reverse: Strong die scratches run south from the bottom of the diagonal bar of the N of CENT. Long E/W die scratch runs east from the N of CENT running through the T ending at the left edge of the right wheat stalk. Long E/W die scratch just above NITED of UNITED. Die scratches form an X over ED of UNITED.
