Description

D/D Tilted (Rotated) Die Markers: Obverse: Short die gouge through the upper right portion of the 9 of the date. Die gouge in the fold to the lower left of the bottom of the lapel. Light NW/SE die scratches through the 1 in the date. Lighter NNW/SSE die scratch on the right side of the field and the left side of the field near the back of the jacket. Die scratch NW from the right side of the eyelid. Wavy NW/SE die gouge along the right side of the nose. Obverse Stage B: All stage A scratches are weaker but present. Gouge through the 9 is abraded away. Gouge at the nose is very weak. Obverse Stage C: NW/SE feeder finger mark right of the beard that runs through the lips and cheek. Stage B markers still present. Reverse Stage A: Long die scratches to the left of the upper portion of the right wheat. Small die chip at the upper left side of the P in PLURIBUS. Die scratch north from the upper left side of the E of ONE. NNW/SSE die scratches in the field at the upper right of the T of CENT. Reverse Stage B: Die gouge above the N of UNITED. Scratch from the E of ONE still present. All remaining Stage A markers are abraded away. Reverse Stage C: Stage B markers still present. Obverse:
