D/D Tilted (Rotated) Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Two almost parallel die scratches run from SW to NE above the 9 of the date. Three short, parallel and nearly horizontal die scratches behind Lincoln’s neck. Numerous light NNE/SSW die scratches on the right side of the field closer to the profile. Die gouge on left center of the lapel. Die scratch SSE from the lower lip to the beard. Obverse Stage B: Stage A die scratches are weaker. Weak die crack east from the back of the jacket, running above the designer’s initials and continuing to the jacket fold. Obverse Stage C: Stage A scratches in the field nearly gone. Other stage A scratches present but weaker. Die crack from the back of the jacket is stronger. Large die chip intersecting the crack above the B of the designer’s initials. Weak die crack running up the lower right side of the lapel. Die crack above the eye running west and then turning NW to the center of the head where it turn west again and runs into the hair. Reverse Stage A: Die gouge to the upper left of the M of UNUM. Short die scratch south from the lower left center of the E in CENT. Reverse Stage B: Stage A die marker still present. Reverse Stage C: Stage A scratch abraded away. Light die scratch NW from the upper left side of the F in OF. Obverse Stage A:
