Description

Obverse Stage A: Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Obverse is WDDO-010, close Class II doubling on LIBERTY, the star, and the date. Short NW/SE die scratch behind the head. Long NE/SW die scratch on the collar. Weak die scratch through the bottom of the 1 in the date. Die gouge below the right side of the N in IN. Obverse Stage B: Stage A die markers abraded away, including much of the visible doubling. Very short N/S die scratch left of the first T in TRUST. Die pitting left of the top of the L in LIBERTY. A few die gouges left and right of the T in LIBERTY. Reverse Stage A: Extremely minor Class II doubling on the RICA in AMERICA and the right edge of the building. Strong concentric die scratches through the MONT in MONTICELLO and FIVE. Multiple die gouges on the right roof. Two die gouges left of the dome. Die gouge above the E in FIVE. Die gouges through the N in CENTS. Reverse Stage B: Most Stage A die markers abraded away except for the gouges on the right roof and above the E in FIVE. Many N/S die scratches above the roof. Stronger scratches form V-pattern on both sides of the roof. Die gouge above the E in FIVE. Die gouge left of the E in EPU.
