=1921-D VAM-3 Dot Under Wing= Discovered by Steve Sabella, June 1979. 3 (revised) IV 1 - D2b (Dot Next to Wing, Scribbling Die scratches) (189) Obverse IV 1 - Small circular dot below eye and two in hair between ear and date. Reverse D2b - Small circular dot on field next to eagle's wing, in middle of eagle's left wing next to body, in upper loop of S in STATE, in middle of sixth tail feather and above and below stem to right of first berry in left wreath. Fine die scratches in various directions on over polished tail feathers to the right of eagle’s right leg, between a eagle’s left wing and body and in middle of both wings. ''Die marker'' – Raised dot at bottom of eagle's right wing. DPIS – In 1921 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # VAM-3 has several small, circular, raised dots on the coin. The most prominent one is located on field next to eagle's right wing, in the middle of eagle's left wing next to the body. There are also dots in the upper loop of the S of STATES, in the middle of 6th tail feather (counting from the right), and above and below the stem right of the first berry in left wreath. Dots can also be located on the obverse below the eye, and two in hair between the ear and the date.
