=1921-D VAM-1P Die Break E of AMERICA= Discovered by Michael S. Fey, Ph.D., May 2001 1P(revised) IV 1 · D2a (Die Break E, Scribbling Die Scratches #70) (189) Reverse D2a– Small die break at top right of E in AMERICA. Heavy die crack from top left of second T in STATES up to denticles. Fine die scratches in various directions on over polished tail feathers around eagle's right leg and between eagle's left wing and body. ''Die marker'' - Diagonal die gouge between seventh and eighth outer feather from bottom of eagle's right wing. DPIS – In 1921 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # Obverse IV1 - Late die state shows small triangular die chip between 5 & 6 right stars." added in 2008 revision. I believe it should have been removed with addition of 1P2 & 1P3. The LDS became 1P3.
