Description
The 1919 Standing Liberty Quarter represents a Philadelphia Mint issue from the Standing Liberty Quarters 1916-1930 series. The Philadelphia Mint struck 11,324,000 Standing Liberty quarters in 1919. The obverse features Liberty standing in a gateway between two walls, holding an olive branch and a shield and the reverse displays an eagle in flight. Minted during and after World War I, as America emerged as a global power and experienced the prosperity of the Roaring Twenties. The Philadelphia Mint, America's oldest coin-making facility, has struck coins continuously since 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $42 to $324 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 6.25 grams, 24.3 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #5728.
