Description
The 1916 (S) Philippine Five Centavos is a cent produced at the San Francisco Mint as part of the Philippines Five Centavos 1903-1945 series. Total mintage reached 300,000. The obverse features a male figure seated beside a hammer and anvil and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck.
