Description
The 1910 (S) Barber Half Dollar is a half dollar produced at the San Francisco Mint as part of the Barber Half Dollars 1892-1915 series. Total mintage reached 1.9 million. The obverse features Liberty facing right wearing a Phrygian cap topped by a laurel wreath, with the word LIBERTY on a headband, while the reverse displays a heraldic eagle with shield on breast, olive branch and arrows in talons, with a banner reading E PLURIBUS UNUM. Designed by Charles E. Barber. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 12.5 grams, 30 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #6520. The Barber Half Dollar completed Charles Barber's coordinated design family along with the matching dime and quarter. The 1892-O Micro "O" mintmark variety, 1893-S, 1896-S, 1897-O, and 1904-S are key and semi-key dates. High-grade examples are challenging across the entire series.
