=1878-S VAM-94 Doubled PLURIBUS UNUM= Discovered by Larry Briggs, July 2004. Revised 2011. 94 (revised) II 40 · B2a (Doubled PLURIBUS UNUM) (181) Obverse II 40– PLURIBUS UNUM doubled towards rim with L doubled on left and right sides. Slightly doubled LIBERTY on left side, front of LIBERTY band, top of Phrygain cap, lower hair edge above date, right wheat leaf on right side. Light polishing lines in fields. Fourth right star broken. Die chip at top right of E in PLURIBUS. ''Die Marker-'' Wavy raised line between tops of BE in LIBERTY. (Die also used for the 1878-S VAM-95.) DPIS – In 1878 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. Comments: # Same obverse as VAM-95 # This marriage will not have a raised chip on the R in AMERICA. # Likely Doesn't exist
