This white metal medalet cataloged as JAB-M9 depicts Washington and Jefferson and was struck by George Kline from dies originally created by John Adams Bolen. Kline acquired a number of Bolen's dies and continued to produce strikings from them, creating pieces numismatically distinct from Bolen's originals. The Washington-Jefferson pairing combines two of the most iconic American presidential subjects. The "1872" date reflects Kline's striking period rather than Bolen's original die creation.
